Planting Your Seeds

Have you ever read the Bible?  That may seem to be a strange question to ask on a Christian web site, BUT, have you ever read the Bible?

I am not asking if you have glanced through it casually.

Have you ever read the bible?

I must admit that I know more then a few Christian leaders who have never read the most important book in the world.

Most Christians to Church go once a week and listen to a Preacher tell them what they should have read themselves.  They believe those preachers no matter what they say.  One such preacher of a gospel (that is correct) recently told his listeners that the gospel had been preached for years without any effect, and something had to change.

Be it hereby known that the gospel, when preached, always returns in the exact results God intends for it, nothing more and certainly nothing less!

One of the problems is that far too many so-called preachers of the gospel do not trust God to provide, so they spend much of their time asking for money.  They don’t do it to spread the gospel. They may to it to maintain a standard of living, build a bigger church (lower case c). Or, they may do it because of other non-biblical social pressures.

Now, have you planted your seed?

Far too many Church attendees think that planting your “seed” means giving money to a local, national, or international ministry.  We have been told that LIE for decades!

First, Tithing is an Old Testament “pre-Temple destruction” teaching that even Jews admit is no longer applicable for several reasons.

A. The tithe was to be brought to the Temple in Jerusalem, and it no longer exists!

B. The tithe was to be given to the Levite Temple Priests, and no one now knows who they are! You local preacher, or your favorite TV preacher does not qualify, no matter how nice and sincere he/she may be!

C. The biblical tithe consisted of food, NOT money!

If you think that I am telling you not to give to your local Church, think again.  But, don’t give because of an Old Testament obligation.  Give the amount you want, because you want. That is an offering, not a tithe!

If you are planting your seed by giving money, you are WRONG!

What is the “seed” that all Christians should be planting?

Instead of looking to your “Sunday-go-to-meeting” preacher, why not look to the Bible, OR have you out grown the Bible as the ultimate resource?

Mark 4:13-14

13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14 The sower soweth the word.

Did you get that?

The sower sows The Word! He does not sow money!

Only a spiritual conman or one who is biblically ignorant would tell you to sow money!

Paul was the greatest of the Bible Teachers of his day.  And, he was a bi-vocational minister!

If you want to become a sower, start sowing the word of God!

If you are looking for a hundred fold return on your money invest it in some tremendous stock, and hope that the Stock Market doesn’t crash.

The hundred fold return on giving money to the Church is based on a spirit of greed that has enveloped the churches (lower case c).

Give what you feel you should, but plant the word of God!  It is the only “seed” that will give the proper return!
