The Feasts of the Lord

As I write this the fall feasts are close at hand.  This morning, my family and I watched as one TV preacher was on the air trying to explain Rosh Hashanah.

In his exuberance to get money, he intertwined the fall feasts with the spring feasts by telling his viewers to send in their “Firstfruits” offering during the fall feasts. That concept is anti-biblical!

He taught Rosh Hashanah of the Gentile year 2009 as a time of new birth or some such nonsense. In the Hebrew calendar 2009 is the year 5770.  God operates within the Hebrew calendar!

It was sickening to listen as that supposed Preacher of Christ’s gospel abused biblical teachings in order to grab a dollar.

God does not expect any Firstfruits offering out of season!

The Preacher was teaching a great transfer of wealth that most Marxists would be proud to endorse!

Where in the Bible does it say that the dollar, yen, or Euro will be the standard currency during the millennium and on into the future?

In the New Jerusalem, gold will be used as paving material!

God, through Christ Jesus offers us the freedom of His grace!

God does not demand that Christians follow a set of laws to gain favor with Him.  Any such teaching is ungodly and unbiblical!

The Bible tells us explicitly:

Romans 8:1-2
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (NKJV)

Christians are not “under” a law, nor must we do this or that to gain or maintain salvation or the blessings of Christ Jesus!

He has not called us out of the bondage of sin just to place us under another type of bondage!

Satan’s slaves are bond up in sin that only leads to death!  Christ’s slaves are released to a form of liberty that cannot be explained, but only experienced by those called to live free.

You have no doubt been told about the Indian elephants, who as young elephants are chained to a stake driven deep into the ground.  That stake is drive so deep that the young elephant cannot pull free. After years chained to the stake, and experiencing bondage, the elephant as a adult is chained to a stake that is very short and easily pulled from the earth.  But, the mentality of the chained mind holds the elephant to his chains still in bondage.

Christ calls you to a renewing of the mind!  He offers you a liberty that many cannot envision.  According to God’s plan for humanity and the universe, the only way you could be offered that liberty was through the payment of the perfect sacrifice on the cross at Calvary.

He does not offer you a lifetime of human enslavement.  Instead, Christ offers you a life of freedom forevermore!
