Blazers Specialty Foods is a business initiated by Jimmy and Norma Britt. What started out as a way to market one of their unique products, has developed into a growing demand.
The Britts operated Blazers Restaurant, located on the shores of Lake Greenwood, for 25 years with lots of help from all the family members. The restaurant served several popular delicacies such as Shrimp & Grits, Country Ham and Frogmore stew as well as Grilled fish and steaks. The one entity that separated Blazers from other Restaurants was their appetizer, Shrimp Dip, offered on every table free to all customers. This unique dip was extremely popular and customers began purchasing the dip for their on personal uses. In 1993 Blazers began to market the Shrimp Dip at some local "Mom & Pop" stores. This sparked the beginnings of what is known today as Blazers Specialty Foods. Today many other popular products are being distributed along with Shrimp Dip. Distribution has grown to include North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. All of our products are still made in the same tradition as they have been for many years.
